Really makes my day when people say the tools I built helped them!

Its kinda crazy that in 2024, If I get a full body health checkup done on different platforms at different times, there is no easy way to compare a metric (for eg, Vitamin B12 levels) across time.

PSA: Backup your important data. Pictures, videos, documents, configurations etc..
esp important if you like to tinker a lot.

Remember the 321 rule of backups. 3 copies, 2 places, 1 offsite. Always.

PSA sponsored by hasty technical decisions made at 12 in the night 🤣

The final piece for my home automation setup is done.

Installed HomeKit bridge on home assistant.

Now I can say “Switch on the TV” to Siri on the iPhone and the TV switches on!

Another one!

Now the geyser switches on from 8 - 8:15 AM if its a weekday & my phone is at my home, So that there is always some hot water when I get up. Pretty nifty!.

The geyser is connected to a 16A Wipro smart plug connected to Home Assistant which runs on my home server

Bought a Wipro smart extension & started playing around with home automation using Home Assistant

Finally 🤘

For the curious, most of Wipro's devices are apparently re-branded Tuya devices. So feel free to order one & use the smart life app for setup & connect to HA

1/5 Attended IndiaFOSS recently (amazing event!), Noticed many using LinkedIn QR codes for connections.

Got me thinking.. why don't we already have a simpler & low friction solution to share contacts directly across Android and iOS? (Ideally out of the box)
