The ventilation thing is now my go to example for something going badly wrong with our society. It’s such a no brainer. It’s a big but not especially complicated infrastructure project that would create tons of jobs at a reasonable price tag with major public health benefits.
even if you don't give a shit about covid you should want clean indoor air in schools/public buildings because getting sick more often is a huge economic hit. it literally costs the economy exponentially more money to *not* filter the air
but maybe that pragmatic argument is too reasonable
