Morgan State freshman Brandon McMurrin was hit and killed while scooting home from work by the driver of an SUV on Washington St, where a protected bike lane has been promised since 2017.

Our family biking organizer is helping others in Armistead Gardens, Hampden, Medfield, and Reservoir Hill.

This morning, we joined @mayorbmscott.bsky.social and @bmorecitydot.bsky.social to announce a city commitment to construct and improve 17 miles of all-ages bike lanes and trails over the next 3 years.

This could more than double the protected mileage the city has today.

Total trips connecting to the route went from 2,300 (October 2024 to February 2025) to 4,400 over the same period this year, with average trip distance growing from 2.3 to 2.7 miles. 🚲

More protected infrastructure means more people riding.

On March 12th, Daniel Davis was killed riding a scooter just south of Orleans St on North Collington Ave when he was hit by the driver of a box truck.
