We have been so very busy this summer, we haven't put on as many free events as we would have liked. We couldn't let International Bat Night go unmarked though, so we are leading a bat walk this Saturday evening! All welcome to join 🦇

Local folk please share 🙏 #internationalbatnight

Great hike around Braeriach today, although a bit more breezy than I'd like. Still, kept flies and midges at bay. Lots of golden plover on the plateau getting ready for the off.

No images I'm afraid, but great fun watching an albino or leucistic house martin this morning. Was on a bike ride, so I might go back with binoculars if I get the chance. Looked like a small white handkerchief whizzing about with its pals.

Was okay through high thin cloud for a bit, but has gone now 😏

Great day hillwalking yesterday: dry underfoot, good views, just enough breeze to (mostly) keep the midges at bay. Best of all a pair of white-tailed eagles circling together with occasional talon clasping and then a golden eagle flypast. Amazing.
Always carry binoculars! 😉

It's true not everyone can walk, or ride a bike, or use public transit. But for most of us, that's not because of anything to do with the act of walking, biking, or using transit itself. 🧵

What might be the consequences if no other party or individual stood in a Clacton by-election?

Sorry to disturb this beautiful creature that was basking on the new path at Moine Mor NNR in Argyll.
Still, better me than some passing buzzard!

Wow! First time I've seen a funnel cloud. 😳

Came across this, which I think might be a northern egger caterpillar on an early morning walk in to the Fisherfield hills.
Not much more to say, other than it wasn't the only hairy caterpillar seen that day so it's no wonder there were so many cuckoos to be heard.

Making the most of the weather. This time in Fisherfield for Ruadh Stac Mòr and A' Mhaighdean. Wonderful, if very tiring 14hr day.
Just the one left now.😳

Memorable day on Sgurr nan Ceathramhnan and neighbours to bring me within three of finishing them all. But this is one to come back to. Ptarmigan, golden plover, greenshank and a vocal white-tailed eagle the reward...plus these fabulous views

This is spring for me; chiffchaff singing and larch bursting into flower. Such colourful and delicate looking things. Our local wood has a high south facing viewpoint and the larches both provide shelter from the early spring wind, and absorb the heat reflected off the cliff to get an early start.

Great day in good company out on the hill today and bonus, only fell over the two times. Silly old fool 🤪

Choices Choices!
Now festivities are about over, which one first?
Actually, 'my bad' as young people (still?) say; I've already started Tim Birkhead's book.
I'm eager to get started on Eager though.
