Right then. Bluesky is it? Got a bit of reputation for being woke. Gotta change that! (Only joking, I'm as woke as can be! I simply share a memorable name, though no relation).

In Britain a few decades ago we were assured that our culture meant we couldn't have fallen for Fascist nonsense in the 1930s. Gratutiously waving the Union Jack about in public was profoundly unbritish - that was for insecure foreigners. And paramilitary posturing was just ridiculous. Oh dear.

Looking at the coverage of Pissington's UDI, the pale residents do seem to like a far right shade of blue. I wonder if that's significant.

That’s the Britain Farage,Tice, Yusef, Badenoch and Jenrick want.

A skipfire populated by whiny white bastards.
The French made a short film about what could happen after all immigrants would follow the ‘white, angry old man’s’ advice to go back where they came from.

Real multimillionnaire/billionnaire 'patriots' would send £36million to the RNLI.

Burnham. The king in the north. The saviour of Labour. That didn't last long. He's lost credibility faster than Starmer.

It never does. But the apology from @thetimes.com to @mothinali.bsky.social should travel as far as the original article.

Looks like it's time for another donation to the RNLI.

Farage encouraging the effective murder of those trying to cross. That’s what it is as forcing the RNLI volunteers not to intervene means letting people drown.
Farage posted then deleted this.

Threatening to prosecute RNLI volunteers.

He is absolutely disgusting.

One thing Labour really needs to get through its head is that government has huge agenda setting capability. If the prime minister or home secretary calls these people what they are that will form parts of headlines and the like. We saw this under Starmer when the correct response finally came
Yeah, fundamentally the government needs to have a more direct response to the far right trying to enforce their will through force.
Andy Burnham is going to have to do a whole lot better than Keir Starmer in responding to masked fascists on the streets.

So an open letter, signed by the huge tech companies that are pushing AI, warning us of the dangers of AI destroying the IT systems our societies depend on. And we're supposed not to hate and despise the thech bros?

i like this plan
Bluesky should go back to invites, continue aggressive bot bans, create a Craigslist-style marketplace (since you’re more likely to buy/get services from a educated or good person on here than any other social network), and market this place like a walled garden protected from enshittification.

The hill (or ship) I'll die on? I know that what's lumped together under AI includes many useful tools that we've had for decades. But the generation of crappy images, fake text, and misleading information (sometimes dangerously so) surely cannot be considered a boon to humanity.

And, as it happens, professor de Vries appears to be a racist, caliper-wielding phrenologist as well. What a surprise.

🚨BREAKING🚨

In more serious news, I have been told on good authority by a third source that Flemish media has revealed the racist academic, de Vries, is the real author behind the pseudonymous article, 'Refugees’ IQs are Normatively Consequential'

Thank you to all the sources that contacted me

Hmm, number 36 on the list is quite interesting.

There’s a petition signed by more than one hundred academics (& counting!) in support of Nathan Cofnas—the racist who instigated the pile on that led to J. Arday’s death—because he lost his postdoc. Apparently there’s nothing a white man can do that deserves consequences.
