Chernobyl's melted core will remain hot for something like 100,000 years. When civilization ends—in 1000, 100, 50 or 5 years—maintenance on the containment dome will stop, & radiation will escape soon thereafter. It'll eventually damage most of the world's DNA, which took 4 billion years… 1/

Left unmentioned in all the salivating over #Venezuelan oil is the fact that it better damn well stay in the ground, unburnt. There's already enough CO2 in the atmosphere to roast us. It's as if we were celebrating the capture of 9 billion tons of cyanide: "Great! Let's smoke it!"

One thing that gets me is that if TRobinson managed a lucky shot, as they'd have us believe—& so did Lee Oswald, & James Earl Ray, & almost Matthew Crooks etc.—where are all the unlucky shots? If there are so many lone nuts out there, why don't we have near misses all the time?
