i really hope to visit my friends again soon & more often. this’ll probably sound very corny but it’s been a really long time since i’ve felt such a concrete connection with other people, even with those i thought that didn’t exist with. makes me happy & like i actually exist

but at the same time, i understand that this is exactly what makes ai so appealing: it cuts the work a person could do in half.

so my initial question of “is AI smart?” turns into “is AI smart? or is it making people dumb?”

there’s one really good video i saw of someone asking chatgpt to create an image of a wineglass filled to the brim and it couldn’t even do it. even if it is outdated, that video made me start wondering about ai some more, hence why i really do wanna research it when i have the time.

engine. it’s on the same level as me searching up how to cook chicken parmesan and getting results, just that it cuts the part where i have to read each recipe and just picks one out for me, if that makes any sense.

i guess i’m less scared and more interested of AI because i know it isn’t as intelligent as people make it out to be—at least not yet. what i mean when i say that is that information collected by like an LLM has a source, meaning that it isn’t this all-knowing deity, instead just a glorified search—
