I have come to realize that part of why I listen to the same old (excellent) music is bc I love the cathartic activity of singing all the lyrics word for word, either out loud or in my head. You can play me all the new music you want, but if I can’t memorize the lyrics in a few listens, I’m out.

It’s crazy to me that when I have my headphones on, whether I’m listening to a book, music, podcast, whatever….my entire reality is different than everyone around me.

Was super excited to watch the new adaptation of Cape Fear, until I realized about 20 minutes in that I just couldn’t deal. Give me Robert DeNiro from 1991 with a sweaty Louisiana drawl any day. Chose to rewatch that one.
