Jeremy Konyndyk, who helped lead the U.S. response to the 2014 Ebola outbreak, writes about the deadly consequences DOGE's dismantling of USAID has had, as Congo struggles to contain the virus.

I’ve raised her well.

US-Iran state of play not looking good.

Yes, there are good reasons neither side wants a return to full-scale war. But that doesn't mean escalation won't lead there.

Or this round is contained but the MOU is essentially OBE.
Meanwhile, US is bombing Iran after Iran struck ships in Hormuz. MOU signed 3 weeks ago seems ink on paper

Sanctions relief revoked
Inspectors kept out
Hormuz open but unstable
Unclear if frozen funds released

Centcom hasn’t released targets yet

Ken Paxton just gave an Epstein-style deal to a pedophile.

Paxton released Adam Hoffman — an admitted child rapist — back on our streets after Paxton’s rich lawyer friend got involved.

The Epstein Class has no place in Texas. Ken Paxton has no place in the US Senate.

I've been reporting on Hungary for nearly a decade now, and it makes it really easy to see when others in the American press make fundamental errors in how they cover the election and its true stakes.

Some of them are really bad!

"These two theories of the case are not complementary. They pull in opposite directions, and the tension between them has produced a campaign that is operationally coordinated but strategically adrift," writes @hbanai.bsky.social in @foreignaffairs.com. Read: www.foreignaffairs.com/iran/america...

This is fantastic, and I legitimately love how starstruck some of these New Yorkers are.
Mayor Mamdani chats with New Yorkers while walking the six miles from City Hall to Gracie Mansion, fulfilling the promise he made in his inauguration speech to “be outside” as Mayor — “because this is a government of New York, by New York, and for New York.”

I hate the too-cool-for-school attitude of dismissing this with a "but they won't." That is surrendering in advance. The pressure should be put on them, the message should be unrelenting that this is what must be done and they're the ones refusing to do it. Don't act like they don't have agency.
If only a dozen Republicans in Congress found the will, they could impeach and remove him today.

Trump’s statement is a direct call for war crimes. It’s deranged and sick coming from anyone, let alone the president of the United States.

Any Republican who remains silent is complicit. GOP majority leadership must bring Congress back to DC NOW and rein in Trump’s warmongering.

Enough is enough.

No.
People in the ultraconservative corner of the internet are pushing to repeal 19th amendment, the legislation that made women equal citizens and allowed them to vote, in favor of “household voting” — where one family is represented only by a husband’s vote.
Supporters of Household Voting Believe U.S. Would Be Better Off Without Women’s Vote
Adherents to biblical patriarchy support household voting: One household, one vote — the husband’s. They say the idea is catching on.
