Although the shoes and hair etc in Auschwitz is traumatic, when I went to Birkenau and went walking past the reconstructions Huts and then didn’t get to the end of the foundations of the huts after quite a walk , it dawned on me it was a huge factory complex set up to kill . That’s what got me .

I seen Neville’s meltdown so there were highlights, he looked as miserable as me in hospital!

I am speechless at this , people literally were starved to death in Auschwitz. I thought it was bad enough that people took food when we went . Did sit well with me , we ate outside before going on to visit Berkenau. Which to me was more horrifying than Auschwitz.
