Born and raised in Michigan but I live in Colorado and my heart is also in Colorado. I thrive on harm reduction, a ridiculous amount of caffeine and Marxism.

Washington, you have one assignment tonight: show MGP the door. Please make sure you don’t let us all down. Michigan, don’t let us down either - El-Sayed is the better person. Stevens is more business as usual. St. Louis - you literally had a Rep who actually stood up for her community. Why?

I’m so goddamned tired of these constant stories of the most vile things being done to workers, period. There’s zero excuse for it to continue. And don’t preach to me about electoral politics being the healing salve - that’s simply not enough and never will be.

These conditions have existed for entire decades almost unchecked. And these claims that “This is not who we are” are bogus. The privilege needs to be checked, the greed needs to end, the self serving, the corruption - it all needs to be broken, no matter what the hell it takes.

There’s many more like him in every state legislature, every single county board, every city council, every village council. There are many more like him who are the owners of the companies you work for, the landlords you pay rent to, the grocery stores you buy from, even utility companies.

I get the fear of Trump, I do. But there’s a whole other dynamic that’s not being discussed here, and it has everything to do with the conditions that led to him. Yes, the racism and universal bigotry is there, but absent are the merited points of quality of life measures that were just ignored.

I’m sick of the political theater. I’m sick of this idea that we absolutely cannot do it without the Democratic Party’s good graces. I’m sick of the inaction, sick of the hostility against workers, sick of the power the owner class is simply allowed to have without even a fucking question.

Today is exceptionally frustrating. Here we are, trying to square off against two of the largest tech companies in the world, and ones that call the majority of their workers independent contractors so they can get away with fucking them over in every way, and yet what do I see?

Here we are in a whole drought, several wildfires already burning across the state and the rest one giant tinderbox, and yet you people still insist on setting them off. How dense are you people?

@kimkelly.bsky.social It was fucking awesome running into you at Labor Notes, even if my social awkwardness hit hard. Thank you again for the work you do on labor reporting!

Long live the martyrs of Haymarket Square. May they never be forgotten and the cause for which they fought for. May labor prevail, always.

This is looking east from northern Colorado Springs. Those clouds? A wall of cumulonimbus clouds that are putting some pain on the eastern plains of Colorado right now. While I hope everyone stays safe out there, it’s cool seeing updrafts in real time - that means powerful winds moving upwards.

What happens when you piss off Uber and Lyft drivers? This is what happens. Uber, Lyft and their puppets screwed over drivers statewide not once but twice. They’re done playing nice and this is the start of the inevitable backlash. CIDU is DONE playing nice. Expect us, respect us, always.

What happened over the course of nearly 8 years under Governor Polis is completely unacceptable and outrageous. Too many times, labor has had to fight this man and his enablers over way too many labor bills. We’re in a situation where workers are still dealing with suppressed wages and high bills.

It took forever to create this, but after years of putting up with him, I needed to say it in a more eloquent way: Go to hell, Polis. Over and over again, he helped either nuke or kill a lot of pro-worker legislation, and then tops it off by capitulating to a monster. Don’t run for office again.
