We are asking for increased layoff notice, increased recall rights, severance, and alternatives to layoff. The county will not budge.

We are asking for increased layoff notice, increased recall rights, severance, and alternatives to layoff. The county will not budge.
Additionally, the county must make millions of dollars in cuts over the coming years. They laid off over 50 members of our bargaining unit last year, with little notice and almost no empathy.

Recently, Boulder County has been unwilling to negotiate protections for immigrant workers. They crossed out every single word of our proposal for an immigrant protection article and stated, "We do not believe this is subject to negotiations." We will not stand for this!
