Every bounty in this book is a whole adventure waiting to be improvised at the table or deep prepped by a GM. I’ve only read 8 bounties so far and I feel I could run this starting now and for the next few years. If my games ever went that long. #mothership #wagesofsin

Just flipping through this book makes me want to run it. Put a bounty on my free time, I’ll need it back!

I’m starting to think I’ve read the various editions of Vampire the Masquerade more recently than others reviewing V6 Playtest. The amount of rules remembering by reviewers is all over the place.
August 16, 2026 at 7:49 PM
NPCs in V6 are horrible however. If everyone was a minion level threat, then it works, but I found myself wanting more strategic options for established NPCs. I wanted to treat them like full characters, with things they are good and bad at.

Finished the Vampire the Masquerade playtest last night. All my players agreed that it made them want to play VtM again and they hope the current anger toward the new edition doesn’t convince White Wolf to pivot too much.

Vampire the Masquerade revised edition was very good for me. So much so that when I went insane and sold off my RPG collection, I couldn’t let go of it. Just a few books away from being complete. Maybe I’ll complete it.

Played Vampire the Masquerade last night. Playtest of 6th edition. We loved it.There are some lumps that need to be smoothed over but we were pleasantly surprised by how it played. It felt like VtM. It didn't feel like V5. More a distilled and refreshed version of the other editions.

It's probably too early to be converting Tourniquet rules to Vampire 6th edition rules, but hey, that's what I do. Plus it's a great way to learn the system.

Fans pressure will probably make 6th edition die in its current state, so my work will be worthless after a few months. So be it.

GM points that GMs spend to do things they could already do in games, are really just "I'm not being a dick" points.NPC disappears out the window before you can capture it, feels better if I spend the 5 points you gave me from your mess ups, instead of just doing it and telling you to take it.

VtM Alpha: I really like the new Humanity. It positions you as not the monster or the mortal, but a person struggling with both. This is a new concept in the VtM line, which I dig. It is easy to understand and use and there are zero elements that I think my table will ignore on it. #ttrpg

VtM Alpha: Prolonged Tasks are fine.
Downtime actions are solid, but needs to be expanded in the final rules, I hope incorporating Haven and Domain development.
Tiers of play are...Trying to be a balancing mechanic but seems to just set guard rails. Move to ST section. Ignore mostly.
August 2, 2026 at 5:21 PM
VtM Alpha: Actions are also straight forward and what I expect from most TTRPGs. The only happy dance I did when reading was:

you gain a number of reactions equal to your Wits dots.

Hell yeah.
August 2, 2026 at 3:58 PM
VtM Alpha: Movement, distance, and time are all pretty standard. I have no issues with them EXCEPT in the movement part it talks about the ST restricting things based on narrative and environment. No mention of spending Drama to do so, like in other places in the text. Hence why Drama needs clarity.
August 2, 2026 at 3:50 PM
VtM Alpha: I love the image I have of Vitae also being your health. Because in vampires it would be right? Now I picture blood splatter as the vampire loses Vitae in every physical hurt.Previously I pictured dry wounds.

They might be dry wounds with vitae loss as automatic healing of those wounds.

I'm neutral on [Quickening] for my table. I didn't like it in WFRP4e, and I know I'll forget to use it in this game too.
Seems to undermine Blood Surge as a mechanic. Why BS (lose vitae for 1 die) when i can buy successes with random points I keep refreshing.

Scene vs Roll, yeah I get that.

Vtm: the failure systems in the draft feel a bit off to me. Choose Your Pain is great and Devils Bargin needs mode once drama points are not so arbitrary. Maybe even CP and DB need to combine into one system.
stuck on these two pages all night as my brain tries to make them awesome instead of good
August 2, 2026 at 1:41 PM
Vampire the Masquerade Drama seems half baked (like most systems like this in other games). In this they could be tossed, with Choose your Pain being hardened with ST Choice as an option(or story trigger). Use Drama as a tracker for bad shit on the horizon(Story Triggers are much like clocks).

VtM. I really like the new basic rules. A+S-D. If one of those dice is 8+, you succeed. Extra 8+ showing dice make you cooler.

Maybe years of playing Free League make this a good fit for me.

Maybe it's my dislike of moving difficulties in other games or the count the successes versions of vtm.

The new vampire the masquerade playtest feels like a departure…

Which is good.

When requiem 2e is still the best version of the game you kind of need to try something different than what V5 did.

Call me intrigued.

Updated playtest pdf cover. It's getting closer to an actual release but I'm not happy with a few things. Also I got distracted with another design (not vampire related).

Working out a few more kinks, and trying to get art lined up. Soon hopefully!

Finally! #dolmenwood #ttrpg #roleplaying. Can’t wait to get into this!

I will be ready for the first round of play testers soon on my next Vampire release. It’s a solo journaling game that builds your mortal life and the years you were a vampire before the modern day. The play test document won’t be pretty. Interested? Let me know. #vtm #vampire

The Alien Evolved RPG is cleaner, doesn’t hurt my eyes and the rules changes seem to be exactly what I wanted. We’ll need to see in play (hopefully soon) but so far it’s better than I expected. Just wish the other books (and the foundry installs) had this layout without me having to rebuy them!
