I’m watching every animated feature film officially released in 2026 for the first time in the U.S. That means theatrically, streaming, or on physical. That doesn’t mean film fest premieres, releases in other countries, foreign language films released in the US without English subtitles or dubbing,
#2026inanimation Super Charlie is Jack Jack from the Incredibles, but the animation is uglier and the story is boring. The cast employs voices with such far-flung accents that it’s clear this was dubbed in a rushed process.

#2026inanimation Despite the manic way it rushed through the second act and the throwaway “air bender” lackeys (though even they led to the cool Robo-Toph moment), Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender is a very well-animated and easy-to-watch sequel to the original show.

#2026inanimation All I want from Minions movies is to be weird as fuck, frantically paced, and not boring. Unfortunately, Minions & Monsters becomes boring when the monsters arrive. The Minions work, the movie references are terrific, but the second half of the movie is a dud.

#2026inanimation I am intensely not the audience for The Dangers in My Heart: The Movie, but even with that in mind this did nothing to change my opinion that anime compilation films are just cynical ads dressed up as theatrical films.

#2026inanimation I probably should have watched the series first, since the whole run of the show is only like 80 minutes. But I quickly got the hang of the humor in Me & Roboco: The Movie and understood at least 40% of the in-jokes around anime in general. And it’s pretty funny!

#2026inanimation I don't think I need to say a lot about Toy Story 5. It's been covered to death. But I will say that while I felt Toy Story 4 made the case for the series remaining a trilogy, Toy Story 5 convinced me that with the right stories, they could make these movies forever.

#2026inanimation An obscene amount of effort was clearly poured into I Am Frankelda, and the colorful result of that effort carried me through the movie. But if this exact movie was presented in CGI I’d probably call it a disaster, and I doubt I’ll watch this a second time.
