“La shukra ala wajeb.” There is no thanks for a duty.

Well, this may not matter much, but: Thank you, Macklemore!
Ed Sheeran isn’t neutral—receipts confirm he’s complicit.

This isn't about antisemitism—but about enabling Palestinian genocide. Even now, Kanye ‘pro Hitler’ West is playing at the same venues Macklemore was just cancelled from for saying Free Palestine.😐

The cancellation of Macklemore is more than a free speech issue, it’s a litmus test of basic morality

This happened just a very few months after 9/11. My wife and I watched it on TV and wept big tears. Leave it to an Irish band to give the cathartic performance that all of us Americans needed.

Sorry, I guess I didn't have the necessary brain processing power to commemorate Charlie Kirk's death yesterday.

www.snopes.com/fact-check/c...
Charlie Kirk once said prominent Black women didn't have 'brain processing power' to be taken seriously
He was talking specifically about Michelle Obama, Joy Reid, Sheila Jackson Lee and Ketanji Brown Jackson.

I'm reading some FB comments from folks in my hometown in deep-red Oklahoma. Summers lately have been brutal there. They're remembering how summers used to be fun, but now they're way too hot. Someone asks if the sun is somehow hotter now.

Could all of this be because of... of... nah, never mind.

Everyone gets a Welcome to Medicare health screening when they start Medicare. What's crazy is that this assessment is the first time that many folks have seen a doctor in years!

I fully support Medicare For All. And a good first step would be covering everyone over 50 and under 20.

The arch is supposedly to be constructed of reinforced concrete covered in marble siding. So, it should be easy to tear down in 2029.
This monstrosity near Arlington National Cemetery is a disgrace and a litmus test for me in 2028 primary. Maybe for others too. If no pledge to tear it down, then cross off list for consideration.

Linda Ronstadt released a New Wave album in the early 1980s. I. Loved. It.

But I seem to be the only one left alive in this world who remembers it. 😢

I dabble in Genealogy, and I found this today:

"On March 9, 1904, their youngest daughter, Erma, died just eight days short of her 5th birthday, and on the very next day their 14 year old daughter Silvia died. The cause of their untimely deaths was diphtheria."

This is what vaccines save us from.

Recently retired IT security contractor for NASA JSC here.

We weren't 'limping along' for 4 years. Does he think that Artemis was just thrown together in the last two years? It was the result of many years of work.

And bragging about Space Force to a NASA audience is such a colossal faux pas. 😂
Trump is speaking to complete silence at the NASA center. Not a single person is applauding or reacting to anything he says during his brazenly partisan speech.

Year after year, Christian churches wring their hands because people are abandoning them.

Year after year, people report that they're leaving because they don't want to be like the people in those churches.

Yet year after year, Christian churches scratch their heads as to why people are leaving.

Much gratitude to Heather Cox Richardson for turning me on to the epic poems of Robert Service. I read a couple of them online and then ordered this book.

I'm looking forward to spending the next couple of days reading about folks like Sam McGee and Blasphemous Bill.

I canceled back during the Jimmy Kimmel fiasco, but they seem to have grown a backbone since then.

Paul Krugman has taught me a new word: Führerprinzip. The Fuhrer's word is above all written law, and government policies, decisions, and officials all serve to realize his will. (Thanks, Wikipedia)

It perfectly describes the mindset of the Republican party today.
