Both of them at one point in their film see visions of their future selves, and the plot of their movies are remarkably similar. Stars are already dead for Simon, and the stars are dyING for Grace. People noticed all of that and started shipping. Not sure who was first, though.

Both have a deep, visceral desire just to live- both give up that desire for the greater good, for the mission that is "bigger than them"- there is a woman who sends them on the mission with a 3 letter name (Eva and Ava) which is a hilarious coincidence, and one more

Someone online noticed the parallels between Simon's story and Grace's story- men sent on what is essentially a suicide mission against their will, part of a mission to save humanity, alone for a majority of their time in space until they meet a single alien (good or bad) - there's more hang on

Like it doesn't feel like it's even about the characters anymore. It's becoming just "Mark and Ryan" like they aren't both real people and are instead just dolls to dress up. Again, not hating. People can do what they want, this is just how i feel.

Rats, lol 😆 Well it's not technically moon related, but i know 'Moon pie' is a pretty common pet name. Though I don't feel like it'd fit

On a more serious note, I feel like My Moon is cute, or like Moonbeam, or Starshine. Those all feel like Grace-isms he'd call Simon.

Ryland taller but lankier - Simon is shorter but he is broad, like how Markiplier is built. Wider shoulders, bigger arms - more muscly than Ryland - just not as tall as Ryan Gosling.

Yeah agreed on the first few scenes -- honestly though, Mark's done tons of acting on his channel and Unnus Annus over the years, so those of us who have been watching him a long time knew he has the chops for it.

I had no trouble- i think for the first few minutes I was distracted by the fact it was Mark, but after a while it just became "My good friend Simon who is having a very bad day" 🤣
