A few notes about myself:

I'm not a journalist. I'm not a political expert. I don't have all the answers. I'm a lousy proofreader. I'm just an opinionated American who strongly believes that a rising tide lifts all boats. And right now, I only see 0.1% of the boats lifting.

I have a trade deficit with woman who used to own my house.

I paid her thousands of dollars for her home and she paid me nothing.

Now, all I have is a house worth thousand of dollars. I could have saved those thousands of dollars if I lived on a bench in the park. It's just simple Economics.

Mike Johnson affixing himself to the anchor that is Trump and plummeting to the bottom of the ocean is stupid in itself. The fact that he is dragging the rest of America down with him is making it vile.

Good people can do bad things. Bad people can do good things. Slapping a label of "bad" or "good" on someone never tells the whole story. We shouldn't forget that people are messy and complicated.

I'm a lifelong New England Patriots fan, even as far back as the dark days of the early 1990s. I still follow them even though I don't watch the games all that much anymore. It's going to be harder for me to invest myself more fully based on Robert Kraft's push to remove Macklemore from the tour.

Happy Labor Day!

Can't wait until Trump signs an executive order renaming England Old America...

Sigh...

Rest in peace, Gloria Steinem. She persevered when others tried to tear her down, and by doing so, she elevated others.

I'm envious of all of those people on the moon who got to see a solar eclipse last night.

Taking Tim Curry the day after Dolly Parton feels like the cruelest of jokes.

Rest in Peace to Dolly Parton. She was a music icon and an even more incredible human being. Her generosity is something we should all learn from and strive towards.

Natalie Harp appears to be in dire need of a mental health intervention and is being used by a man who only seeks to feed his own narcissism.

Werner Heisenberg is driving when a cop pulls him over:

"Do you know how fast you were going?"

"No, but I know exactly where I am."

"Well, you were driving 90 MPH."

"Oh great...now I'm lost!"

I skipped the President's address to the nation last night. It's bad enough he has to lock himself in a closet so he can bask in the smell of his own farts, but does he have to drag the rest of us in there with him?

Trump: "We'll have Iran defeated soon. They'll be defeated very soon."

Lindsey Graham inflicted incalculable damage on this country thanks to his spineless boot-kissing of Trump. I will not dance on his grave...but I will not celebrate him either.

"Every miserable fool who has nothing at all of which he can be proud, adopts as a last resource pride in the nation to which he belongs; he is ready and happy to defend all its faults and follies tooth and nail, thus reimbursing himself for his own inferiority."

I really don't know much about Ted Turner the man, but Ted Turner the media mogul was an icon and his impact cannot be understated.

RIP

(Here's to hoping they schedule his services to begin at five minutes after the hour.)

Forest loss declined significantly in 2025, thanks to countries curbing deforestation and a lull in wildfires in some parts of the world.

I'm thinking because he sees his value as how many things he can name after himself. It's always Trump Tower, Trump Steaks, Trump Airlines, Trump This, Trump That... he's a very insecure and vain person.
I’m fascinated by how obsessed Trump is with his ballroom but still unsure why he wants it so bad. There is definitely an untold story there that goes beyond him just wanting a larger event space.

Imagine the logic-twisting that is required to argue in favor of a taxpayer-funded vanity ballroom.

Like...the shooting last night may have very well been an actual serious incident. But given Trump's propensity to stretch the truth and flat out lie...who can say for sure?
