Not knowing where to start, what complex robots are coming down in cost? Is maintenance, parts, software updates, etc. also coming down in costs?

I ask because I can tell you from experience with cars that a tiny little scratch on sensors are a pretty expensive fix!

Agreed that a robot taking out the risk to humans is something we should strive for, I.e autonomous driving.

To bring it back to the original point, can anyone afford the constant upkeep that AI requires?

Using this example, could communities afford this type of investment? A fire engine price has doubled in 5 years and it's a 3 year backlog. Also the majority of firefighting calls are for everything except putting on fires.
