Every year when my snowdrops bloom I'm grateful. They like neither heat nor clay soil, both of which I have in abundance, but I'm learning where to plant them and am delighted by every single bloom. I've tucked these 4 into my smallest egg vase, dreaming of brighter days.

I am committed.
Every day:
-calling my congressman and senators.
-working on figuring out how to feed people in my community facing food insecurity.
-sending money to health nps.
-earmarking work for wetlands conservation.
-being gentle with folks bc we're in a fragile spot
How will you help?

The shyest hyacinth spike (did you know that forced hyacinths often put up a large spike then 1 or 2 tiny ones)in a new bulb-like bud vase. I had new porcelain to test last month and threw multiple bud vases. When it was time to glaze I mixed up a new glossy jet black glaze to pair with it.

It's been a very hard week (personally on top of nationally) but I'm going to St Mary's Episcopal Cathedral at 10:30 because I invited the whole entire world. Front right section- tell me you need a hug and you've got it.

The Christmas rose, helleborus niger, which I kept in pots during the holidays and look forward to planting soon. It is the earliest of the hellebores, most begin blooming in February.
This tiny bud vase is one I made several years ago and will make again.
(This is week 4 of 52 in 2025)

Week 3 of 52 weeks of flowers. A delft-inspired viola ring made of the most finicky English Porcelain. It's too small for full-sized pansies. Center opening sized for a taper candle. This would be so fun as a cake topper.
It's bringing me a bit of sunshine on this unexpectedly snowy Sunday.

Yesterday I had a rip roaring case of the don'ts. This is how I worked through it. Lots to think about, figure through, and working is part of my resistance.
