Wildfires, drought, record heat, the worst-ever arable harvest: we have seen just recently what ecosystem collapse looks like in the UK, and we know it will only get worse.

The govt must treat this existential threat as the national security issue it is.

We KNOW that rewilding massively reduces flooding and the effects of drought, not to mention reversing nature loss, boosting rural communities and the wider economy, and aiding against climate collapse.

Why is the government still ignoring the obvious?

Ragwort is a *wonderful* plant for insects, like cinnabar moth caterpillars, which evolved to eat nothing else. No ragwort, no cinnabar moths.

But because it can be toxic to cattle, in Ireland landowners risk heavy fines if they don’t kill it off, usually with herbicide.

No wonder nature is dying.

There'll be 14 screenings of our film, An Irish Atlantic Rainforest, in Dublin's Irish Film Institute over the next 8 days, starting this evening.

The last time I saw it on the big screen, audience members were crying with emotion: the film is mesmerisingly shot, and really seems to move people.
