Just in case anyone still had any questions, today Trump proved beyond all doubt that has absolutely no idea how the economy, trade, or finance work. It would be genuinely difficult to cram more falsehoods, backwards statements, and sheer gibberish into his statement.

If the US were a grocery store and it stopped buying from suppliers and selling to customers, it wouldn't make more money. It would lose its customers, lose its suppliers, and run out of stuff. A deficit isn't a fancy word for loss. It's a receipt. Get him out of here.

Reminder again that the President of the United States has no idea what a trade deficit is — a concept taught in high school econ.
He thinks that if the US buys $500 of goods and services from Canada, and Canada buys $400 of goods and services from the US, we have “lost” $100.

Trump said just now that he thinks Warsh has a "hostile board." He could act at any time to fire Lisa Cook. The Supreme Court said she was entitled to an explanation of the evidence and a chance to respond. Those boxes have been checked. Trump could order the firing at any time.
