Happy 1 year anniversary to BSAD 🎉 I painted Aaliyah and Lance with instant coffee haha ☕

I didn't upload ch 1 until April 2026, but I started drawing ch 1 on October 1st, so it's a more significant date to me.

Thank you so much for your support and interest this year! 💚

On this day last year I started drawing my manga with little to no experience in comics/manga

I've gotten a lot of questions over the last year about how I've done this, so I made a (free) Patreon post talking about my experiences with this project so far! ☕💚

Sketchbook shenanigans ☕ I was thinking about magazine spreads haha

[ #sketchbook #ocs #ocsky #bsad ]
A sketchbook page featuring my OC Lance standing to the left holding a mug. Next to him is the word "Cappuccino" in bold, and below that is a quote that says, "What sets a cappuccino apart is the strict ratio, which ensures balance in every sip. Unlike other milk drinks, the cappuccino maintains equal parts of each component. This structure is what gives the drink it's signature harmony -- No single element dominates, and each layer contributes to the overall experience." Below that is a pen drawing of a mug with foam art

Trudging away in the manga mines again ⛏️👷 finally got the ball rolling on chapter 4!! I went a little crazy on page 1 hehe...

[ #ocs #ocsky #bsad #indiewebcomic #indiemanga ]
Half of a manga page. The first panel is a night sky. The next panel is Aaliyah's foot stepping out of a car, she is wearing sandals. The next panel she is looking across a parking lot at Lance and Diah, who are talking while standing around the back of a pick up truck. The next panel shows Aaliyah closer, she is smiling and says, "sunglasses at night... Is that cause you're a 'vampire'?". The next panel Lance frowns and says, "what are we looking at, Di?" With "ignore" written above the speech bubble

I finished drawing chapter 3 today 🎉 and I'm sooo proud of the last few pages 😭

I'm going to ramble some thoughts in the comments 🧵

[ #bsad #indiemanga #webcomic ]
Half of a manga page with the dialogue removed. In the first panel Lance looks irritated and is saying something. In the second panel Diah is standing up and there is a Scoot sound effect. In the last panel the coffee shop table is shown in fish eye perspective from above. Diah is leaning on the table and saying something to Aaliyah and Lance. Lance sighs and Aaliyah says, "yeah!"

(beaten to a pulp) I made it out alive-

Would you 🫵 get coffee ☕ with the ominous blob in the corner? 🤨

[ #wip #bsad #ocs #webcomic ]
Part of a manga page with the dialogue removed. In panel one Aaliyah is looking at Lance and he is looking away from her. In panel 2 Diah'a back is to the viewer and she is pointing at a black blob in the corner of the ceiling of the coffee shop. In the third panel everyone is looking up at the blob from the blobs POV
