The celebrity class as commodities rely on the ACTUAL bourgeoisie & defying the status quo risks blacklisting, shadowbanning. ultimately, the most they will be able to do is highly sanitized, symbolic gestures rather than structural adjustments or challenging the economic ties of their industry.

Unlike bourgeoisie who are power players because they buy the labor-power of the proletariat and extract the profit, the Celebrity Class inhabits this weird space (that Gramsci, Frankfurt school analysts and Debord have talked about better than I could) where they act as a mere CLASS BUFFER.

And also, just admit that Celebrity Culture lost its relevance when there's an actual genocide happening.

Who gives a fuck what these people say or do? They are alienated from the working class and they don't hold true institutional power. They are a more useless kind of bourgeoisie at best.

For context the lake is literally two blocks away so there’s really no excuse

Seeing this late but yeah I’m also still feeling a lot of things about this even tho I’ve been disappointed before, I still don’t have a good way to cope except expect disappointment again. It’s hard too on Joon’s birthday when I want to be celebrating but I’m still mad on some level :/
