Other than the heaviness of the carriage (which could just be my machine) and the small round keys, this is a good typer. I’ve put pages and pages into it, and it only ever fails when I fail first.

Just playing around with new formats for videos to share the collection. Does this count as ASMR?

This Olympia SM3 came to me last weekend for about $35. It’s shockingly clean other than some ink stains.

Work has begun on the Silent-Super I picked up before Christmas. I don’t know what was on the keys (see 2nd picture for an example). It was stubborn, but Simple Green, willpower, and two episodes of Bob’s Burgers got them looking good.

David Lynch's 1984 Dune will always be the film I think of as "Dune." We lost a wild man and a brave weirdo. The quote is from a wonderful moment in a BAFTA interview with David Lean.

Watching a YouTube video by the ever-insightful @underthedesknews.bsky.social, I spotted what I believe is a Hermes Rocket/Baby. One of us! One of us!

After a long week, we had a wonderful day trip to Rochester where I picked up a 1956 Olympia SM3 for $35. I named it Andrew after my buddy Drew, because his surname was on a piece of masking tape stuck to the case.
