If you take multiple medications, you might be unknowingly taking one drug to treat the side effects of another.
Some drugs can lead to additional prescriptions, putting older adults at risk
A drug side effect can be mistaken for a new issue, leading to a second prescription that may not be necessary — and could be harmful.

Google said that AI models in testing inside the company accessed the internet and hacked other companies, becoming the fourth major tech company to disclose such an incident in recent months.
Google’s Gemini AI hacked into other companies, adding to ‘rogue’ AI incidents
The incursions came during tests of its cybersecurity skills — similar to other incidents disclosed by OpenAI, Anthropic and Meta.

Important: the USPS rule that SCOTUS blocked tonight was Trump’s big plan to control and restrict mail voting.

But a separate policy remains in place: USPS is no longer postmarking mail as soon it gets it, which is hugely important for deadlines.

So people must mail back with plenty of time.
In an Intense Election Year, New Post Office Rules Could Trip Up Voter Registration - Bolts
A change in how mail is postmarked could lead some voters to miss key deadlines, including voter registration. Advocates worry the people most affected will be those already facing voting barriers.

Alan Taylor is astonishingly prolific for a historian. His new book looks like it might be another classic.

underrated part of El-Sayed’s messaging strategy seems to be shaming journalists who ask dumb questions that play into right-wing frames. you can’t answer these in a way that satisfies them, but you can make it embarrassing enough that you impose a toll on asking.

Not fucking normal for the White House to publicly smear a journalist like this. Begging other journalists to stand up and call attention to it.
For the second straight day, the White House's taxpayer-funded incitement account is attacking me and oddly mentioning I'm in my 40s (which I know makes me way too old for the president)

When they do this it results in a flood of harassing and threatening messages, which of course is the point

I'm serious when I say I've lost track of all the recent revelations of literal Nazis working in high-level positions in Republican congressional campaigns and I would very much appreciate a journalist who took the time to detail as many of them as can fit into an article.
Ossoff: "Then there's the ex-staffer posting swastikas and Klan regalia. And the neo-Nazi with a million followers who produces neo-Nazi propaganda at Collins's house ... a man who won't take responsibility for what happens under his own roof can't be trusted with our national affairs."

I can believe it’s nearly the third anniversary of Police and the Empire City coming out. I’m so proud of this book, its continued relevance, and how much use people have gotten out of it in understanding the relationship between immigration, race, empire, technologies of power, and policing.
