A place for me to post my mineral/fossil finds, amateur photos, and sketches. Here for positivity and not negativity, there is too much of that, :p

Some cool fossil finds. Second image looks like pyrite replacing a burrow or piece of coral? I’m not sure, but very interesting.

Good day finding spiders. A mother and banana spider. 🕷️ A walk a day keeps the mind at bay.

Went to check out a spot I haven’t been to in a while and the creek was at an all time low. Saw some nice exposed fossils. Also got a surprise visit from a snake living in the wall.

Very sparse fossils, but still interesting. Cool seeing yellow veins contrasting with the white.

Had a nice walk in a new area :)

This rock had a very nice amount of fossils making me happy :) Can’t wait to look at them in further detail and uncover more hidden in it. Got a very cool negative white shell fossil as seen in the top left with the two pieces.

Sulphur river at Ladonia Fossil Park. Cool little scene :)
July 28, 2026 at 2:59 PM
Was sifting through some sediment from Ladonia and I found a fossilized tooth. Using uv light makes it easier since they fluoresce :0

Some of the larger fossils stabilized. Some of them are annoyingly fragile some more than others, but that is what happens being exposed to the elements.

Some of today’s fossil finds stabilized with 7% b72 Polaroid. Feels good to finally sit down and admire them.

Quite a specimen of a leaf footed bug made an unpleasant surprise while I was relaxing. When it flies, it’s more terrifying than a wasp or screeching cicada ;( even though these guys are completely harmless (?).

Was surprised how high and far away from the tree this spider was. Looks like a space invasion.

Morning armadillo on my walk :)

Some nice tent caterpillar communities. A bit early for the Halloween aesthetic :p

Nice weevil and flower on a good early morning walk :)

Cool geology I spotted before it rained :)

Nice walks I had today. It’s been raining so much that some mushrooms have grown ._. In summer. Also makes finding fossils less accessible since a lot of creeks and rivers are overflowing :/ it won’t stop me from trying though :p

Snakes in your fossils? It’s more likely than you think. Recent surprise guests on a sauna of a day looking for fossils.

Menacing cicada decided to screech a war cry and fly at Mach 5 when I decided to take a picture lmao. I prefer to hear their songs from a distance
June 14, 2026 at 11:43 PM
Recent one I split open. Both sides are quite sturdy and in fair condition, like hitting a jackpot at the casino ;) when all of the previous rocks had no notable fossils.

Got some more display bases but I ran out of them lmao, but it’s another improvement to making it look nice. I grouped them by fluorescence with there being orange, yellow, green, and few reddish oranges. Some localities have strong fluorescence and or preference to a particular color :D

Tons of spiders and insects. Saw a glowing firefly stuck in a web which was a bit creepy with a glowing dot frozen in air.
