Hey, if you would like to discuss this label I would be more than happy to do so, but it seems your DMs are closed. We did leave a note on your account, you can find it on our query page here: query.aimod.social

It doesn't look like AI to me ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Looks like this is an old label (Aug 2025). Our system was recently reactivated after being shut down for about ten months, so it only seems like it just got applied. I'll go ahead and remove it.

This is common for AtProto tools. The good news is you don't need to use any of the tools we've provided - they are just there for your convenience. You can still appeal any label through the Bluesky interface.

Oh, but to clarify - no we do not. All reports are human made and all labels applied by humans. So if there is a mistake it's a human one.

We try not to mess up of course, but knowing mistakes happen we've done our best to make appeals easy to make and aim to resolve them as quickly as we can.

Looks like the label was from Nov 2025. I can see that the banner is indeed the same one, though I can't say what you had as a pfp when the label was applied (I trust you when you say it hasn't changed, but it shows as a dead link on my side because we don't save images). In any case, I removed it.

I'm not sure where you got this impression?
August 2, 2026 at 4:59 PM
Yes, when we reactivated it. The label itself was from December 1st, 2025.

I've already cleared the labels by the way.

We only recently restarted the system after a ten month hiatus. It could be that the label is just old. I didn't see an appeal for you but I will look into it.

It's your choice. It's everyone's choice, at the end of the day.
July 28, 2026 at 12:59 AM
Historically that has not been the case - if it were we would close shop - but I can understand your concern. That's why we take as many steps as possible to ensure those kinds of actions don't occur.

Do also remember that *most* accounts on Bluesky are anonymous. This account here is me, a human.

We're having trouble deleting the bad link in the post on the main page (if that's what you are referring to) for technical reasons involving rate limits, but we should also have that resolved tonight or tomorrow.

For now I'll see if I can get that label fixed for you.

AI mod here! We just reactivated the service after having it shut off for about ten months. It might be that the image you had back then got flagged and now that we've turned the servers on again it's showing the label from before. We also updated the handbook, which should be current in the bio.

And of course a label on a single image will at worst hide the image from a user, not the entire account. Only an account-wide label will do that, and we are even more careful with those!

... been lagging for us a lot lately so labels and appeals are taking literal hours to go into effect which leads to a lot of double reports and slows us down.

The good news is our survey indicates people don't see a removed label as a sign of AI.

For nor I will remind the team to be more careful.

... not know how this particular image got labeled, maybe something as small as a regular dumb human mistake. Like antifae said, we prioritize appeals (I personally try to check them once per day, but sometimes miss a day here and there because, again, human.) It doesn't help that the system has...

...is surprisingly small. For thousands of images we might get one or two wrong - most of our appeals are for users who change their pfp or banner to something not AI and want it removed.

We do take the time to look at accounts, not just the single images, when making judgements about them. I do...

We actually put a lot of weight on NOT labeling when we aren't sure. Our escalation queue is rather large right now because we haven't had the time to research them as much as we would like. It's true that individual labels for single images might sometimes slip past us, but our error amount...

Yeah, it's us over at @aimod.social. We actually removed this specific label 8 hours ago but there is a huge lag with our labels anymore so it's still showing on the account. Pfps get changed a lot so sometimes the tag just doesn't apply anymore. Let us know if you ever see any!
November 17, 2025 at 1:12 AM
If you want to appeal on their behalf, you can re-report the account and mention the appeal in the notes. If you are the account owner you can click the banner and it gives you the option to appeal.

We had some tumultuous few days, lol. I believe it should be up now?
September 18, 2025 at 7:29 PM
Oh it's fine, honestly the apology is plenty enough. More than we usually get 😅
September 11, 2025 at 5:54 AM
Looks like the label was applied in December of last year, so yes it was probably your old PFP. I went ahead and removed it for you, so you shouldn't have anymore issues.

We usually make a point to check the appeals every day, but the people who normally do it were sick, so it took a little longer

And Google's Deep Dreams, the backbone of modern AI technology, was developed 10 years ago. I've included some example of neural net snapchat lenses. These don't use the face-map morph or add stickers, they re-draw a new "style" using the photo as the target image in a complicated find and replace.
