A friend of mine is in the service industry and he says the sudden order drop is reminiscent of the last recession.
The jobs report isn't that big a deal in itself - just one month. If anything it takes a bit of pressure off demands for rate tightening. But in political terms it's not remotely the data point the White House wanted for the final month of the campaign.
