every time i let my guard down even slightly toward anyone, i soon come to regret it fucking dearly. but this hindsight doesn't stop me from falling into the same trap again. because i guess i'm just a gullible regard who is desperate to feel like i could possibly belong with someone.

i have lost hope in everything, but especially the possibility of ever finding lasting camaraderie or trust in anyone. almost every friend i've ever had (or thought i had) eventually decides that i simply am not worth the trouble, and usually very early on, at that.
