I don't know what the difference between dualism vs mind/body dualism is btw, differentiating the ideas is new to me. We may have different definitions of dualism then?

I don't know what IG or MBD mean, but that's the point of dualism: that there may be something unpredictable specifically about the Mind, which may be unique in this universe. But you're basically asking if True Random is possible or if the universe is deterministic which, quantum physics: maybe not

For 1. this is I believe "theory of mind" which I don't know much about, I think in kids it's supposed to be around 2 when their ego shrinks to the individual so maybe around then? For 2. Unknown, all animals with brains may in some ways have it.

It doesn't really work for sandwiches because you could present us with the physical manifestation of the sandwich not sandwhich you're imagining, and we'd just categorize it as a sandwich or not; it may be debatable, but it'd be rooted in the sandwich's material properties.

The thing you're doing is happening inside of the subjective experience of your Mind, and it's impossible to 1:1 ensure that the neurological activity representing you imagining this fake sandwich would represent the same Thing in someone else's Mind if we transferred that neural pattern to them

It may not be numinous, but your experience of the color red is impossible to actually describe to someone else, or determine from your neuron activity. Qualia is one of the things that keeps dualism around. We can determine from neurology that you're seeing red, but not what red looks like to you.

I don't intend it to be, but it seems a lot of people assume a religious component to dualism.

Meanwhile a sandwich is categorizable off its physical properties only. You can of course argue whether a certain combination of things constitutes a sandwich or not - is a hotdog a sandwich? but there's no question of "what is it like to be sandwich?" Because it doesn't experience things.

Dualism isn't "wow consciousness is so mysterious. Must be god!" It's positing that consciousness seems to possess subjective phenomenal characteristics that resist reductive explanations.
I, personally, am a materialist, but I think it's important to not assume I "just know," I could be wrong!

Can someone smarter than me tell me: I assumed all chat models / LLMs are dead ends for AGI because they can only offline train. They're basically dead husks, kinda the absolute definition of a Chinese Room, no?

Dualism doesn't require a soul or the metaphysical consequences of gods and spirits, just that there's some aspect of Mind that's not following the same rules as the material universe.
As far as I know we haven't philosophically completely ruled it out.
