@mapoochoo.bsky.social I'm enjoying anthropeum, it's great fun! A small thing though - a couple of times I've had "Mesoamerica" as a hint for Taino/Carribbean objects. That's outside the standard definition of Mesoamerica and so it's a bit of a misleading hint (esp as the distance is large)

Walked into a Montreal sports bar the night before 2015 federal election and saw a big crowd around a guy at the bar in a Canadiens top. Couldn't see his face and assumed it was a North American sports star I wouldn't know so went upstairs to watch the game. Turned out it was Justin Trudeau
Please quote this with the time you didn’t interact with someone famous - eg one time I was in Cardiff the same weekend as Willem Dafoe (but I didn’t see him or even know he was there until he appeared on the telly later)
Please quote this with your major interactions with massive celebrities. eg “I was married to the pope for fifteen years”

I'm constantly shocked (but not surprised) by how little we discuss the additional financial burden placed on young people by the Clegg-Cameron student loan regime.

@rmcunliffe.bsky.social is one of the few journalists who brings it up continuously - once again in the wake of the budget 👇

@lewisbaston.bsky.social just finished your book. Really great read - like it was commissioned just for me! Feel exactly the same way in central and eastern Europe. I happened to be in Transylvania while reading it traipsing around Saxon churches which gave the book and the churches extra oomph
