Pinned
"Have you ever been haunted
the way I've been by you
and have you ever felt
the measure of the days that I've spent waiting
pining for you?"

Dude, this book, together with remember Jars of Clay's song, the Edge of Water - this is what C.S. Lewis called Joy, and the Romantics called "sehnsucht."
"I've dimmed the emotions to keep my lanterns lit.
I'm shaken by this longing coursing my veins,
In mind my I can't make sense of it.

"Can't see the sun for the daylight,
can't feel your breath for the wind
...
Will you chase away these shadows when you come back again?"
Starbucks as an advertisement for how ChatGPT is apparently struggling to maintain convincing use-cases.
Call me old-fashioned, but when I can't decide what I want to order I just ask the barista what their favorite drink is and try that one out.

You can just *talk* to people. People who work at the store are humans just like you. We shouldn't be using chatbots to empower extreme social anxiety.
Starbucks is partnering with ChatGPT.

The coffee giant has launched an app within the OpenAI chatbot that is supposed to "provide inspiration for customers’ drink orders."

Consumers will still need to complete their orders on the Starbucks app or website.

For April Fool’s Day I did an instagram thing and dipped Brussels sprouts in chocolate and sprinkles and left them out when my kids got home saying they were cake pops

Oldest kid was predictably betrayed but younger kid actually loved it, ate the whole thing, and went back for seconds wtf

"I don't know to this day how compilers are written."
- No less than Steve Wozniak

Had a moving, effective heart-to-heart tonight with an older person about #dignity and #dependence - "finding the keys to hidden depths," indeed.

About a different question, he says:

"... that's a question I asked myself about 3,000 times. (As an aside, asking oneself anything 3,000 times turns out to be a bad idea.)"

This is so relatable.

Lots to learn- but I'm getting there. Spoke w/ several people about @deepkey-edu.bsky.social, & about scheduling first class.

I was moved & surprised when one said, "Whenever you open your mouth, good things come out of it."

If that is true at all, may it only become more true.

A chunk of today was still spent sorting things out with my car. Might be done for. (Also making sure newly potty-trained little man didn't have an accident.)

Listened to Founders At Work Hotmail interview & The Hard Thing About Hard Things.

This is the only thing you need to know.

Democrats want to open TSA. Republicans are refusing because they want to attach ICE funding.

That’s why there are long lines. ICE.

The subtitle of the book is:

Building a Business When There Are No Easy Answers.

One current Hard Thing is that I don't know if my car is going to survive. And there's so many other moving parts in my life. Weirdly this makes me resonate with the crazy situations in the book.

I listened to a chunk of The Hard Thing About Hard Things, by Ben Horowitz, about his experience founding startups. I do think I'm learning a lot thru this, altho the situation of @DeepKey_Edu is hardly the dotcom boom & crash.

OpenAI is shutting down their video app Sora.

The platform is used for AI-generated videos.
