Diesel fuel just hit $6 a gallon nationally, and $6.50—or even $7 if Mideast supply disruptions worsen—is now a real possibility. That would be devastating for the U.S. economy, driving up trucking, shipping, farming and manufacturing costs, and pushing prices higher on virtually everything we buy.
