It's impossible for me to compile a list of ten favorite books (not to mention getting that to a "favorite"), but I'd love to hear what your favorite read from the 1st half of 2026 was :) Didn't have to be published in that period. I'm torn among three titles, but I think I'm going with "Whistler."

Wow. All I can say is that (for me) Anne Patchett never disappoints. I thought this novel was masterful, and I can't think of the last time that I really cared about what happened to all the primary characters in a book.

I've forgotten where I saw this, but I loved this little inspiring thought. It can apply to the storyline, as well as the final novel/book (and everything in life, I guess). Charming.

I found this literary bucket list from the NY Times interesting (and fun). They only mentioned NYT once, so not too terribly self-promotional. 🙂

The best thrillers of 2025, according to the NYT, are on its website. I grabbed this screenshot because I really liked this thriller, and its author seems to be a genuinely nice, gracious fellow. Send your thriller recommendations. I love a good thriller for the nightstand stack.

Next on the list of books before we say goodbye to July. Currently reading "The Most Fun We Ever Had." I wasn't quite sold (and it's 600+ pages), but finding it captivating now. In a world where quick-fix, quick-buck, and quick-bite are the norm, I'm glad I made the commitment.

Just finished a 'micro' high school reading list. It was great fun going back with an adult's sensibility.
