We are exploring Ten in the Bed for our story of the moment. We are using our number and counting skills to count how many animals are left in the bed, practicing counting backwards from 10. R said “let’s do 11 animals now” as we added animals on.

We had a great day for world book day today. We read lots of stories, made and acted out some helicopter stories and had a lovely relaxing day enjoying our books. Thanks for your continued support 😁

Today in the garden there was an emerging interest in colours. We set up a fun game promoting colour identification, gross motor and critical thinking. They did amazingly, super job!🔴🟡🔵🟢🟠

We would like to share that we will be celebrating World Book Day 📚on Thursday 5th March. Children can wear pyjamas and bring their favourite book. ( please label book with child’s name)

Today some children took part in an outdoor walk around the school grounds. In honour of burns day and carrying on the interest of the child, which is different animal prints, we began looking for the Loch Ness monster prints! The children were very engaged and were so focused on their task

At craft, we are learning about Scotland for Robert Burns Day. We have created Scotland flags and our own tartan. R - “For Scotland” P - “it’s a cross”. B - “Yellow, purple, pink. It’s a pattern”

Outdoors, some children are loving the mud kitchen/water area. I provided some fun and messy resources to make some “potions”, the children also gathered some natural resources. They turned out amazing! What a fun and messy way to promote creativity, fine and gross motor and problem solving🧪💧✨🍁

Our tuff tray has been changed to nursery rhymes this week! The children have been very engaged with singing and rhyming throughout all nursery areas, to help support the children’s phonological awareness I put out all different rhyming provocations.🎶

We had another trip to the woods today. We stayed a bit longer and built the toilet tent, made a shelter and had some snack at camp!🏕️🍊

Nene our safety elephant came with us to the woods to help remind us on how to keep ourselves safe. We had good looking eyes, listening ears and all children listened to all instructions perfectly.🐘

Shapes and patterns have taken over the craft area! Using children’s current interest I created some different activities for the children to take part in that encouraged fine motor, mathematical language, shape, size and measure📏⭐️

To allow children to become more familiar with different types of text/print, we added more recipe books, lists, menus and receipts at mealtimes area. A few children particularly have shown a deep interest in this and have therefore progressed to created their own recipe and shopping list/receipts.

Some amazing firework pictures were made today. We used some straws stuck together to create our masterpieces. What a fun and creative time we all had🎆🖌️

The boys and girls at craft were very busy making their playdough bonfires. We had lots of discussions around fire safety and what to do to keep us safe. This was also a fun activity to practice fine motor, language, co-ordination and colour. How amazing!🔥🎆

Today at craft I provided some multicoloured paper and glitter for some finger mark making. The children were encouraged to use their finger to create their own firework shapes. This helps develop fine motor skills, imagination and colour recognition as well as having fun getting messy with glitter✨
