This song is a good reminder that while I wake up each day with mountains to climb and oceans to cross to function, I have made progress. #bipolar #adhd #mentalhealth

I do much better when I am not working. As my next shift draws nearer, I struggle. Knowing how much energy it takes for me to interact with others is tough to deal with. My mind shifts from positive thinking into darker thoughts. I do like my job, it just takes a lot out of me. #bipolar #adhd

This clip reminds me of the time I stepped in dog shit on my carpet with bare feet while carrying the laundry. It then smooshed all over my foot and into the carpet. When I mentioned it to my hubby he went "oh yeah I saw that there". HE SAW IT AND JUST WALKED AWAY.

I was just thinking about how 20 plus years ago my adult cousin told us his email address was [email protected]. My Aunt looked uncomfortable and asked him why he used the words "hot male" in his email. Oh did we have a great laugh. #funny

My mind was going like crazy last night. I didn't get to sleep until after 2am. I should have been fine to sleep in but no, I got woken up twice by the hubby before 8. Then the school called to talk about programming just after 8. I'm grumpy & awake. Sleep is very important for #bipolar stability.

My hubby & kids came back from a family friends' house with homemade cupcakes. I looked at my hubby & said I don't think we should eat those. He asks why. I remind him of Christmas 2024 where a platter of baked goods from them smelled and tasted like an ash tray. I politely decline now. *shivers*

A couple years ago I was proud of myself for how far I processed my #trauma. Then I went through another traumatic event. I worked hard to get through it, I have had many wins. Sometimes I do get flashbacks that pull me away from reality. Feels like him still robbing something from me. It sucks.

I discovered retirement home video pages on facebook. After adding one, the videos just keep coming. The videos are absolutely hilarious that the staff make with their residents. Quite creative.

I heard someone say the person they were did not survive their #trauma, that they are someone else now. I can see parts of me that died with my trauma, AND it resulted in me growing a new sense of self respect. Notice the use of "and" not "but". Both truths have an equal impact on my life.

I have a head cold and I am miserable. I decided to text my manager today instead of tomorrow. She has never made me feel bad about it, but other jobs in the past have guilted me. It took me hours to actually send the text. Her response? "Ok." Her usual. And yet I was afraid. #anxiety

I was frustrated at work today. I struggle with my long term memory and even though I try my best, I always feel like others around me are doing better than me. I get embarrassed when I forget something that I should have remembered. #adhd, possible brain damage from #bipolar and meds affect memory.

Tomorrow is the 25th anniversary of 9/11. It felt like a different world before that day, it was a shocking thing to watch on tv as an 11 yr old. I remember how the coverage was constant on many channels for an extended amount of time. It was my first real lesson on the darkness inside some people.

I likely am going to lose another friend, and I know it will happen soone. While he has been supportive over the last 6 years, he has this weird topic of interest that he brings up constantly to the point of it harming my mental health. 1/

My 11 year old showed me a meme that said "you don't teleport anymore" and it showed a couch and a bed. I was so confused, but once it clicked and I went "ohh!" she just howled with laughter.

Starting to feel good over the last week after a med adjustment but is it a good thing? Healthy mood range? Or the start of hypomania? The relief is amazing, for now. My anxiety is better. Though I am sleeping less. #bipolar

My brain has taken a beating over the years and I don't remember the past as well as others around me. I always thought I wasn't trying hard enough to pay attention (as I was told many times). But no, #bipolar brain damage/ encoding issues and an #adhd brain have been working against me. It sucks.

My 8 yr old daughter threw a new shirt on a chair and I said to her that she needed to put it in her drawer. Her response was "in your mom!" The look of shock on my face had my 11 year old laughing hysterically. Whoever told her about mom jokes is evil. I don't think she has any idea what they mean.

Today at work a customer asked me "if you were a dinosaur, what would you be?" Not knowing what he was wanting, I thought for a moment and said I didn't know. He goes "You would be a gorg-saurus!" That was a new one for me, I told him it was a good one. He said "I thought so." #work #flirt

I saw a post today about the effect mania has on the brain after the episode has finished. How there is brain damage that takes a while to heal ranging from weeks to a year or so. Poor judgement. Faults in logic. The memory loss. It is a rough ride. #bipolar

I had the day off today and I struggled to find something to do. Not because there wasn't anything to do, but because there is too much to do. My mind couldn't decide where to start. I ended up doing a handful of smaller tasks around the house. Progress, a bit. #adhd

I've been seeing a lot of posts about Dolly Parton all over social media. I knew about a lot of the things she has done, finding out about more. One thing she did that really impacted me was being a producer of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, a show that shaped a lot of how I view the world. Thanks Dolly.

Today we finally invited people over for a fire this year. Had a bunch of adults, a bunch of kids, a bunch of food. I actually relaxed quite a bit this time as I am practicing letting being a perfectionist go. Nobody cares if something isn't set up just right. It was nice. #anxiety #adhd

At work today I met a man in his 20s who interacted oddly. He was curious about things (including my coworker's tattoos), was insistent our product is AMAZING, and wanted to shake my hand. He had a slight stutter and repeated words. 1/

We all have junk drawers right? Well ours is more of a junk counter as there isn't a spare drawer. We had stuff just in piles, an anxiety provoking mess. I spent way too much for the solution ($68 Canadian). But my #adhd brain is happy for the moment. I forgot to take a before pic, as usual.
