They may be better off this way. Leave the seat empty. One less vote for the GOP. And, if they play their cards right, a little time to build up a good Dem for that seat and particularly to prove the fraud committed by the GOP against the people of KY.

Beshear appointing a Democrat to temporarily fill the seat reduces the Republican majority in the Senate. It makes some progress toward the Dem agenda more likely because it reduces the number of Rep's that have to be convinced. The GOP is playing a waiting game until Aug 3 to retain control.

There are 342 Million people in the USA. There has GOT to be a few of them with an opportunity to take photo/video evidence of what is going on . . . even if it's against the rules of their profession. I'd do it. Many of us would. Where are all the nurses/orderlies/doctors who know how to do this?

This situation is ridiculous. But I feel badly for the folks who are in the position of having to follow orders (Nat'l Guard). Trump is putting them up as clowns for his stupidity.

I did watch this season of Survivor (occasional guilty pleasure): happy the finale was Weds. Apologies to Kathy Bates and CBS Sunday Morning, but I have to sacrifice all of it. Colbert was their hidden gem and now he's freelance. Bu-bye.
