The thesis of this is anti-democratic and serves to provide fodder for the GOP propaganda it wishes to constrain. A meaningful voice for the progressive side of the Democratic coalition can only be healthy—to morale, policy making and in every other respect. MAGAs are going to MAGA regardless…

Also Clarence Thomas’s benefactor if memory serves.

Seems possible Bernie’s ‘vetting’ process might do with an overhaul? Or are they simply prepared to overlook this kind of stuff?

The UEFA position encapsulates very well the informed view on this subject. Anyone saying differently either knows they’re talking BS or they’re a football/soccer moron …

Let’s not forget Russian interference!

A silly position IMO. Don’t think people are finding ‘joy’ in dissents but it is of critical importance that the correct analytical framework is spelled out, both so it can be seen/felt there are those on the court who know/care and because the idea of remaining silent/non-responsive is repellant

A very long term structural problem in the US. If comp tied to contributions to social welfare and gdp, good teachers are the most underpaid group of professionals—by a vast vast margin. Mirrored in how athletes are valued vs students etc. Incentives all wrong ….

Just to add, if you get this far in the comments, that it’s the same for me here in London. And the Pride version of ‘What If We Didn’t Suck’ will remain at the top of my favourite Ts stack …

You’ll hear nothing good from me on Fetterman, but if her vote had mattered Collins also would have voted against. Just sayin’ …

I simply fail to see how anyone can find any of this edifying. Jennings is a paid liar. CNN is complicit in his lying. And it is not remotely ‘entertaining’ …

Bulwark not a monolith and far more nuanced than this suggests …

Saw your interview with Jon Favreau. I am so depressed anything of importance is in your hands. Will we never learn …

It’s the mirror of what he’s attempting to do, which was my point exactly. Oh well.

Was suggesting action from the other side of the equation—really just making a point though, but thanks for the steer …..

Well, I do, but I generally rate Tom’s thoughts on things. I’ll try harder if my comment was a source of irritation.

Maybe you guys could take this ad nauseum debate off line? It’s neither informative nor entertaining….

Should have stopped after the first sentence ….The world is in a state of massive flux—what might work this cycle may have no bearing on 2028. That certainly applies to writing off entire classes of candidates due to race or sexual orientation. Open/creative minds solve crises, not the reverse!

Media certainly dropped that ball—to the extent ever picked up. But if congressional Dems won’t pursue impeachment for the most fundamental of constitutional offences (ie, don’t rock the boat before the November elections) then it seems we’re just in a place where no one really cares ….

Most of the commentary I see comes from people who don’t live in Maine and aren’t experiencing the campaign first hand with a direct stake in the outcome. I’m leaving it to them; they seem to be making informed decisions best I can tell. (Will say generally I’m done with 80 somethings ….)

At this point if anyone with actual awareness of those things is at risk of forgetting them we have a problem as big as the court itself. How about we get to feel good for a few hours…

💯I attended a fundraiser recently where Mark Kelly was the featured speaker and it was business-as-usual Dem establishment message testing that left me wanting to scream …. And I had considered him one of the reasonably ‘authentic’ ones.
