$1 million grant to Sail Nova Scotia to sponsor the event, which allows a handful of rich and mostly white men to come to Halifax Harbour this summer to race their high performance boats, was spared.

I don't often post on this site, but watching @hfxgov.bsky.social nickle and dime the average tax payer is astounding. This amounts to a buy-local surcharge and local businesses will be impacted the most. Why shop downtown when you can get everything in Bayer's Lake or Dartmouth Crossing instead?

So over the last month there's been a Nova Scotia municipal election, a New Brunswick provincial election and a Nova Scotia provincial election. In a couple weeks time there will also be a New Brunswick municipal election. Surely there has to be a better way.
