Almighty God, thy servant Saint John the Baptist was sent to prepare the way of thy Son, by preaching of repentance: make us so to follow his doctrine & holy life, that we may truly repent; & after his example constantly speak the truth, boldly rebuke vice, & patiently suffer for the truth's sake.

Grant humane treatment and swift, fair justice. Through Jesus Christ, who came to set the captives free, we pray. Amen
