This whole “hyper-visibility vs invisibility” shorthand ignores the way that as marginalized women, trans women are seen (dissected as subjects of public discourse) but not heard (lack of inclusion in academia / queer spaces / WOMEN’S spaces, being talked over, seen as alien to womanhood, etc).

Anyways, I think there needs to be a serious internalization of “trans women are women.” I think there is a deep lack of understanding of how transmisogyny is in fact misogyny. Trans women are marginalized women. The dual harmful societal fixation/erasure is the marginalized woman’s struggle.
