Oddly enough, this kind of policy-driven story is a better fit for the alternate history genre.

Okay, less “hate fic” and more “author tract,” but you get the idea.
…This is just “Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality,” but with Batman and progressivism, isn’t it?
I want a "villain" for Bruce Wayne that's just some dude who's really positive and charismatic who thinks wealth disparities are central to Gotham's issues. I want him upset Bruce by doing things like building a homeless shelter over the alley where the Waynes died and dedicating it to them.

I have a feeling I’d try to “stick it” to Rowling too much.
Sure, she’d deserve it (she’s a terrible person), but I might end up focusing more on proving a point instead of telling a good story.

I think it's less ideological and more that most people just... don't understand logistics. Or how things work.
