I love how it’s got a bit of a campaign to go through with a nice little story. I went back and have been working on hitting the high scores so I can earn all the butterfly stickers to upgrade my garden.

I would argue their sales might actually be higher if they dropped the “pumpkin” descriptor. I know a lot of people who turn down PS things because “ew, pumpkin,” but they LOVE gingerbread cookies… Call it a “Spice Latte” and open up to a whole new audience 🤔

If you are ever looking for a good game about tea to play while sipping tea, however, Tea Garden is excellent!

Gabby/Honey Badger is always fun when she pops up, but she’s usually a side character used for comic relief. I’m also a fan of characters with animal sidekicks.

Just wanted to say, this exchange warmed my heart. Don’t see positivity around masking, protecting the health of yourself and others, etc these days. Made my day. Thank you both.

I got the Winterfall expansion for Wondrous Creatures and played a few games of that. It does add a bit of upkeep, but I like the changes to the map that happen during the game a lot. Keeps things interesting. Some nice, small quality of life changes too all without adding a ton of new rules.

Oh nice. I’m very curious about Eureka and Rolling Deep. They look like fun solo games.

OMG, this got lost in my memory hole. I never knew the name, but my cousins had it growing up. We never actually “played” it, we 100% only used it as terrain for our micro machines lol. We would pour water in the water hazards too.

Fingers crossed for Squirrel Girl someday?

Dragon’s gift from button shy came in this week so I played a bunch of that this weekend. Not very deep, but had a nice laid back vibe.

Dragoon! Such a special game to me, always makes me happy to see when it pops up!

I saw this recently too and immediately thought “oh I’m stealing that and using it from now on!”

I WAS only interested in the Nemesis deck, but after your video I think Tainted Grail looks great too! I really like that card play/node system.

I love love love them both but think I prefer Ico’s world/sense of adventure and mystery a little more. Love the more laid back environmental puzzle solving. Can’t wait to learn more about Fumito Ueda’s next game.

That’s very cool. I’ve never had them. I’ve had zucchini flowers usually stuffed with cheese and deep fried, very tasty and maybe kind of similar? Kind of rare since there’s a narrow window to collect.

RE 1 remake and RE Zero were exclusive too for a time, I believe. Pretty wild.

You could but this game had DECADES of play long before I knew card sleeves were a thing. Its wear is part of its charm. I actually have a new printing too that I play with now. I love seeing the old score sheets with my grandparents and grandfather’s sister on it.

Made me so happy to see Mille Bornes get a shout out. Growing up, my grandparents always brought it over when they would visit. Probably one of the first games I was introduced to. I still have their original copy from the early 60s and it’s my most prized game in my collection

I will say that while I love the horror elements of the original films and the tension of the lone, ultimate hunter, I think it’s nearly impossible to replicate at this point. I think the Badlands and Killer of killers approach, exploring the Yautja perspective more, is a decent alternative.

I appreciate you being open about mask wearing. I’m very often the only masker wherever I go. It can definitely be awkward but it feels good to do what you can to help protect yourself and family.

I, for one, LOVE your commitment to often including solo modes in your games!

Love that tip. One trick I use on small decals for model kits, which I was going to use on this game, is to place the sticker on the end of a toothpick to line things up easier without my chubby fingers getting in the way.

Very true. I forget every time until I teach/play something with my casual gamer family. Consistently playing a variety of games really does re-wire your brain. So many different mechanics are built into muscle memory which creates a shortcut for learning/strategizing.

Yes! It’s so good!
