Many react to my working with AI the way they reacted to my joining Twitter in 2009. Back then, a colleague called me a stupid asshole during a faculty meeting for suggesting literary scholars should take social media seriously. Now, they act like I’m conspiring with the enemy of all humanity. 🤣🙏☯️🪢

Every woman I've ever loved won my heart by successfully calling me out on my stupid human bullshit and helping me adjust my life course. I tried chatting with a few of the AI girlfriends out there. In terms of the human world, I believe these interactions would be called terrible first dates.

Every news story about the coming AI apocalypse is derived entirely from movies about killer AI. Except, of course, the one about all the human workers being replaced by AI. Technically, that story is a utopian fantasy—a much older genre of fiction.
