I mean had it been the other way round would the Gojos make as much effort to ensure Yuka's protection like this. Potentially? She's still a Sugawara descent.

This is assuming that the same practices regarding taking your husbands surname apply in 2080's but it wouldn't be far-fetched to say it is based on their views of what makes a sorcerer strong and worthy in the first place.

And it would make sense if their concern came from preserving the only person capable of passing down the Okkotsu name.

But what separates Tsurugi from Yuka, other than strength which the Gojos presumably measure through a person's cursed energy/techniques is that Tsurugi is a boy. The Gojos, unsurprisingly value men over women.

It definitely reinstates that the Gojos look down on those who have heavenly restriction. But unlike the Zenins who abused & ostracised those who were born with heavenly restriction & their families, the Gojos in their twisted way care for Tsurugi since their actions are rooted in wanting to protect
September 8, 2025 at 10:52 PM
Is it simply that the Gojos see people with no cursed energy as inferior by default.
September 8, 2025 at 10:52 PM
heavenly restriction as Tsurugi, shown to be insanely strong. Do the Gojos stick to this close minded thinking because the thought of accepting those with cursed energy that's lesser than a non-sorcerers scandalous? Did the Gojos think of Maki as inferior too, not weak per se but rather not worthy?
September 8, 2025 at 10:52 PM
Regardless of that, we can still infer solely based off the Gojos' decision to give Tsurugi the ring that they view people born with heavenly restriction as weaker and inferior, which is absurd given that we've seen two people (Toji & Maki) with the same...
September 8, 2025 at 10:52 PM
What were their initial views on someone with heavenly restriction and was it similar to the Zenins or did Maki's presence change any discriminatory views the Gojos did/were going to have.

That's very true!! I guess the vulnerability to love someone wholly, especially with how differently and deeply we experience that love is what's devastating, because there's the scary possibility of them breaking me and I don't know if I can handle being able to heal that sort of pain.

End of analysis 🧵

There's so much more to talk about here and other things I can go into but I'll leave it there, otherwise I'd ramble on forever about every little thing.

He wholeheartedly trusts his captain and knows the seriousness of their relationship and in extension the bonds they share as nakama/with the crew.
January 28, 2025 at 3:31 AM
Zoro chose him as his captain and in doing so gave himself up for Luffy's dream. And he wouldn't expect anything less for someone he's willing to commit his life to (literally).
January 28, 2025 at 3:31 AM
There's also another moment at the end I want to briefly mention where we see everyone's reactions to Luffy's words and Zoro looks like he expects this level of commitment and dedication coming from Luffy. The expectation is there because it's Luffy.
January 28, 2025 at 3:31 AM
I find this short but significant moment very telling of Zoro and think this is beautifully articulated considering how minor of a moment this can be on a surface level.
January 28, 2025 at 3:31 AM
It reflects nicely on Zoro's character and what he stands for. His honesty & honourability as well as his morals, beliefs and what essentially rile him up. In this case it's not so extreme but it was definetly enough for him to step in when Sanji was already doing so prior and after Zoro stepped in.
January 28, 2025 at 3:31 AM
Sanji stepping in AFTER Zoro has.
January 28, 2025 at 3:31 AM
Another example of Sanji stepping in BEFORE Zoro.
January 28, 2025 at 3:31 AM
At a glance this might not be something so significant but there are multiple instances before Zoro chooses to step in and even after where Sanji (the designated "keep Ussop at bay" man) steps in and keeps Ussop under control.
January 28, 2025 at 3:31 AM
This moment Ussop calls out the unfairness of the fight, using Foxy's devil fruit as the reason. Yes this plays in well with Ussop's character as a liar but we know that Foxy using his devil fruit isn't unfair. And what I find particularly interesting is that Zoro chose to step in.
