Get the quote as a total, not an hourly rate. Hourly rate times hours is not the price. Repositioning, taxes, landing and handling all land on the invoice. Ask for the number you will actually pay.

You get the operator's name. Before you commit to a flight, you get the corporate name of the carrier in operational control. That is a legal requirement under 14 CFR 295.24, and it is also just how this should work.

Ask who holds operational control. The certificate holder flying your trip is a named company, and under federal rules you are entitled to that name before you sign. A broker who hedges on this question is telling you something.
