There are three types of wealth. Wealth such as your home, costs you money. Some wealth doesn't cost or pay. But financial or business ownership is the wealth that really matters.

Almost all wars since 1700 have been in service to the control of territory and markets for capitalist enterprise. I'm on page 796 of Sven Beckert's book Capitalism - A Global History. It's shocking how obvious the whole madness has been.

An increasing rate is extremely hard for most people to grasp. It's why people never see something exponential coming. Half of everything (like economic growth) occurs in the final period. Then bam - people say "we didn't see it coming."
It doesn’t matter whether the rate of global warming is increasing. It’ll never cease to amaze me that people don’t care that it’s happening at all. It should be the most alarming thing ever.
