Of course I wanted to be more eloquent and present the best version of myself. But, at the same time, in that moment I was just a fan who had the chance to step out of his comfort zone and say hi for a few seconds to one of his favorite streamers.

Consider me a happy fan.

Btw, if you want to be “cool,” don’t wave from far away. That automatically removes any possibility of being “cool.”

Connor was super nice. We had a little chitchat, took some pictures, and I said goodbye. Of course I was nervous.

After walking around a bit, I saw Connor with Rob, the cameraman, in the distance. I waved at them from far away, trying to keep my composure —and failing miserably— and asked if I could take a picture with him, to which he said yes.

For the record, while I was watching the stream, a lot of people went up to say hi to him; it’s not like I was the only one. Both he and Mouse are very loved in Puerto Rico.

Anyway, I went into Sector Sixty6. I called Omi, my wife, who was excited for me, to let her know I had arrived.

Those who know me know that I’m super introverted, and I rarely take pictures with famous people unless it’s something like Puerto Rico Comic Con. If I see someone famous out in public, the first thing I think is: “Don’t bother them.”

So, after finishing my work shift, I got in my car, sat through the 4:30 p.m. traffic toward Caguas, and made it to Sector Sixty6, where he was live streaming.

Today, while watching the IRL, I saw that he was relatively close to me and thought: “At what other point in my life am I going to have the chance to say hi and maybe take a picture with Connor?” Probably never, since he lives in Japan.

Yesterday, I got a notification that Connor was doing an IRL stream with Iron Mouse in Puerto Rico, this being his first time visiting the island.

If you know the inspiring story and friendship between Connor and Iron Mouse, then you know they’re one of the best duos in the streaming world.
