The impossible task of caring for ageing parents who did not care for you: ‘There’s a lot of reliving old triggers’
The impossible task of caring for ageing parents who did not care for you: ‘There’s a lot of reliving old triggers’
It’s hard under the best of circumstances. For those with difficult family relationships or estrangement, it’s even more complicated

I had so much fun volunteering at Mardi Gras last night. Can definitely recommend.

Fark- I had to call an ambulance for my son who was seriously ill and now we’ve got an ambulance bill for $497. This is insane. And now I’m going to have to jump through hoops to try and sort it. Why isn’t this covered under Medicare?

LMAO there is a very strange person on a community facebook group my mum is on who has made this post about a cat being murdered by a dog. The story doesn’t add up at all. She didn’t see it, doesn’t own the cat or know the owner, also doesn’t know the dog owner. It sounds so fake.

Was talking to my dad today about politics. He lives in the New England electorate on a remote farm. Apparently there are a lot of ppl calling Barnaby a traitor for leaving the Nats for One Nation.

The joys, my son is on his third week of his new job and they’ve already stuffed up his pay. 😬

Awesome trip to work today. There was an empty seat next to me and this wealthy older woman told me I needed to stand because she thought I was in a priority seat, and then got snarky when I asked if she wanted to sit next to me.

Went and saw Metallica last night with my cousin. They were absolutely phenomenal. The disability accessibility was also great, they looked after my wheelchair using cousin so well and we had a great view of the stage at the accessibility area.

I love Hallowe’en so much. I’ve been doorknocked by several zombies, a giant spider, a butcher with severed legs, witches aplenty and a giant pizza slice.

Oh lordy I was spending time with my mum today and she introduced me to a completely cursed facebook group called Inner West council watch. One poster on that group is lamenting the potential impacts of a new bike lane on ‘heritage gutters’. 😬

Finally watched the people v Robodebt. This was a very intense watch. Even though I’m a lawyer, it was a struggle helping my mum clear her debt. Forever grateful for all the advocates who fought this and let everyone know what was happening. www.sbs.com.au/whats-on/art...
Courage and tenacity: The story of everyday Australians versus “crude and cruel” robodebt scheme
Powerful new SBS series 'The People vs Robodebt' tells the devastating human story of the illegal scheme, which affected almost half a million victims.

Taking my kid to the Richmond airshow and my train has been stopped for whatever reason for ages. The heavy rail line is so crap.

Spent the day with family and I’m emotionally drained. My cousin has terminal cancer and we’re all trying to be there for her and each other as best as we can. At the moment I think I’m mainly grieving for the life she won’t get to live and the unfairness of it all.
