When designing community mobility plans, it’s essential to understand the social geography of neighbourhoods. Where do people walk their dog, play games or meet up with friends to socialize? These are often called Third Spaces & they are an important foundation for our neighbourhood planning work.

The local park is an important centrepiece of a neighbourhood. It’s a place to play, exercise, relax and recharge. That’s why redesigning a local park is an important community building process. This includes ensuring the community sees how their input is shaping the park redesign.

Civicplan is pleased to work with the City of Mississauga on updating their #ClimateChange Action Plan. This included a Community Climate Lab & a GHG Reduction Calculator – interactive engagement tools that combine Climate Action Planning with #ParticipatoryPlanning.

In more recent years, there has been a return to two-way streets in many cities driven by a general desire in Downtown areas to improve accessibility and quality of life. With the City of Windsor, Civicplan recently launched a vPIC to engage residents on this transformative issue. #Planning
